I worked with Gaja on a large-scale event for a high-profile client. It involved several musicians and singers, actors, dancers, a choreographer, a number of public speakers (key-note and other levels) as well as multimedia (finely timed cues for visual projections, lighting, music and microphones). The goal of the event was to activate the audience specifically via music. The night before the event, a singer fell ill and cancelled her appearance the following day. Her act had been scheduled as a key moment and the very culmination of the entire show. Gaja responded to this cancellation calmly but actively. She rang up her own contacts but at such short notice no professional musicians wanted to risk performing at such a high-profile event. In the end, Gaja turned to the team already involved if anyone was willing to step in. She could do this, because throughout the process, she had been building a supporting, inclusive, kind and professional atmosphere amongst all performers and support staff. Several of the participants indeed volunteered to save the day. Gaja stayed late, helping the newly assigned singer learn and rehearse the song. She also rearranged some of the other acts to make them fit around the new version of the song more organically. The event was a huge success in the end. It reached the audience and exceeded the client's expectations. I was very happy to work alongside Gaja and would work with her again any chance I get.

Her deep knowledge of the Slovenian community in the United States, combined with her strong connections within the diplomatic community, makes her an invaluable partner. Gaia has a captivating presence. She is a very intelligent creative with great energy who combines creativity, precision and control in her work. On many occasions I have appreciated her ability to improvise and take risks when challenged by the unfamiliar. She is a well-organized planner, understands structure and drama as a tool for learning both artistically and pedagogically. She also has great empathy with people - she is a people person, which is so important. Her translation is outstanding and she can clearly 'think' in English. In the last two EU project conferences Gaia has introduced and emceed, she combined the role of translator and host with consummate ease because she is a good communicator with a sense of occasion and high level of professionalism. Above all, she is someone you can trust to do the job well.

Gaia is committed and disciplined. She eagerly asks for feedback and graciously accepts criticism. She is not afraid to go out of her comfort zone, while accepting directions with respect and consideration. While her fortitude and persistence can turn into stubbornness, it is prevailed by her level-headedness and good nature. She has the ability of ongoing concentration, while being a personable individual and a good collaborator. Her personal approach is comfortable and accessible. During the production process, she participated in every rehearsal and made herself available for any additional work necessary. She was always on time and well prepared. In conclusion, I strongly feel that Gaia Visnar has much to offer. Her working style is very professional and creative. I believe she is easy to work with and can be a great contributor to the process.
